Lavetta S.
Treatment has been great. I have been walking and bending over better. I’m able to do housework and a little yard work! Everyone I have worked with has done a wonderful job.

Below are some frequently asked questions we have encountered through the years. If you don't find an answer to your question(s), please don't hesitate to contact our office. We're here to assist you in any way we can and that includes answering any questions and concerns you may have before starting therapy.
Is my first visit free?
Therapy Unlimited offers a complimentary screening to discuss your general needs and whether our services can be beneficial for your condition. A full-scale evaluation by our head Physical Therapist will occur at your first regularly scheduled appointment and be billed under the financial plan set up with our front desk staff.
Do I need a prescription from my doctor?
Michigan allows physical therapy appointments to initially be seen under "direct access". This means you can obtain treatment from our staff for 10 visits or within a 21 day window without a doctor's prescription. After you have met those conditions, we will have to obtain a prescription from your treating physician, verify your insurance (if any) and obtain pre-authorization, if required.
What if I don't have a primary care doctor?
If you don't have a primary care physician, our staff can refer you to a doctor in your area or one that is qualified to see you for the conditions you are seeking treatment for.
How long will each treatment last and how many visits will I need?
Each treatment duration and number of visits will be specific to your injury or diagnosis and what your insurance plan allows. Our programs are individualized to meet each patient's specific needs so it is imperative you communicate with your therapists.
How much will my treatment cost?
Every patient has a different plan of care and insurance policy. Our front desk and billing staff will go over your specific insurance plan benefits prior to your first appointment. At that time, our staff can reasonably let you know whether you have a deductible that has to be met, whether you have a per-visit co-pay, or any co-insurance requirements. We strive to make sure our patients are well informed of their expected financial responsibility prior to treating - we don't want you to have a large bill if it can be avoided.
Is my insurance in-network?
Therapy Unlimited is a Blue Cross Blue Shield provider and accepts most other forms of commercial health insurance as well as workers' compensation claims, auto policies for auto-related injuries, and medicare. At your first visit, our staff will review your individual insurance policy and verify your coverage. At that time, we will be able to let you know if our services are not covered by your plan. If our clinic is out-of-network under your particular plan, you can always discuss whether treating under a cash-base program is an option.
Who should I contact with billing questions?
Our clinic utilizes both in-house billers and an outside, third-party billing company. If you have any questions, please contact our billing department first at 248.471.9400.
